Last weekend, it was really cold, so we decided to visit a city. In fact, we ended up visiting three: Rothenburg, Bamberg and Würzburg. It was a super quiet and relaxing weekend.
Winter is not easy to handle here. The days are short, grey and cold for many months. I just want to hibernate at home under a warm blanket.
When you come from a city like Lisbon, where we are accustomed to having sun all year around, we get desperate for only a ray of sunshine and expect temperatures to remain above 0.
It's amazing how the sun can change our mood, and especially how essential it is to our health. Since we moved to Germany, the lack of vitamin D has become a problem, so we have to adapt our routine in the winter.
One of the things that helps, without a doubt, is to leave the house and take a walk. Getting some cold air on our faces does not hurt anyone, and in the end, we feel much better.
Another thing that's essential to me is warm tea. Get yourself a kettle of water, it will save your life if you get addicted to tea like me.
Finding something to do outside is also a good idea! I like to take my Instax Mini Neo and go do some polaroids. I still have not totally got it, because they do not always look good, but I bet that by the end of this winter I'll be a Pro.
I also used this weekend to do some things I like, like taking photos for the Blog. Writing here is a therapy, believe me. It keeps the mind busy and happy, and I talk about things that interest me. It's a great way to get through the winter if I do not want to leave the house.
I hope my suggestions are useful for surviving another winter, which by the way this year is being very strict!
What are your tips for this winter?
I hope you enjoyed it,
